In 2016, artists Andy Bellomo and Rahmaan Barnes Statik created a text-based mural about the life and values of Medal of Honor Awardee Manuel Perez to be installed on the outside of the Manuel Perez Elementary School. Students wrote essays on their feelings about the school and these words were incorporated into the text of the mural, which faces the playground.
