Dedicated to creating a dialogue for the youth in our communities about online safety. The mural depicts two children sitting back-toback, symbolizing the expression, “I have your back,” An urban street culture expression among youth as a means of supporting and keeping each other safe. In Latin American cultures the jaguar, a symbol of strength, was believed to move between worlds and to see through darkness. The flora and fauna are symbolic of the cultures that exist within the Little Village neighborhood and are both protective, nurturing, and a reminder of the “real world” outside to the young people who sit entranced by their devices.
